WELCOME!

 

To one of the largest, long running and most sought after pageant programs in the nation... the “Little Miss & Mr. California Tropic Children's Pageant and Model Search”. It has always been our mission to promote the well-being of our “kids”, whether it may be through building their self esteem and confidence or their health and fitness. The children always come first! At California Tropic, we believe that every single child’s life will be enriched and their dreams can be fulfilled by participating in this memorable program.

 

Numerous Opportunities!

 

We are a promotional company promoting many different products including “Cool Cuts 4 Kids”, “Hollywood Babe”, “Broadway Babe”, “Sand N Sun”, and, for the past 20 years, “Hawaiian Tropic”. In turn, they use our kids as models for their products. In fact, “Cool Cuts 4 Kids” just used ten of our kids in their new promotional brochure! “Hollywood Babe” has used many of our kids over the years in their ads, hang tags and website! Many dancers have had the excitement of being selected to be one of “Broadway Babe’s” elite dance wear models! “Sand N Sun” by “Intex”, has used hundreds of kids for the boxes, packaging and catalogs of their numerous pool and inflatable products line! They just recently used 45 of our kids and their parents in an advertising video appearing in “Toys R Us’ stores NATIONWIDE!! Hawaiian Tropic has used numerous kids in their national magazine ads and store displays! This is where it all begins!

 

It’s Easy:

Each contestant will come up on stage and smile. After that will be a group line-up. We will do two age divisions at a time, then go back and pass out the awards to those two age divisions and then you’re done. All we want is everybody to have a great time. Contestants 0-3 years must have an adult bring them on stage.

 

Judging Guidelines:

Contestants will be judged on a total package of head to toe beauty, poise and personality. Age appropriate make up may be worn. We prefer no dark lipstick on children ages 7 and under. When the child goes on stage, they can do a few turns. We prefer no removing of any garments.

 

Supreme:

All categories count towards supreme, except Front or Back cover, or the optional Talent.

 

Picture Package:

NO PHOTOGRAPHY PLEASE!! Even in a setting such as a mall. We will have an official pageant photographer to take your pictures for you. Picture packages are available at a very reasonable cost. Photo CD will be mailed to you within one to two weeks! These photos are not copyrighted, so you may make copies for your family and friends! Be sure to order the picture package as they may be used for advertising such as Facebook or our website.

 

Video Passes:

If you would like to videotape your child, you may purchase a video pass for only $20 ($15 at mall setting). When you return the pass you will receive a $5 refund. PLEASE INFORM YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ABOUT THIS POLICY!!

 

Admission Charges:

There will be an admission charge at the door for EVERYONE except the contestant and two chaperones. Charges will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Please inform your family and friends about this in advance! Note: If the pageant is held in a public mall, there will be no admission charge.

 

Each Pageant has a theme! Listed below are the different Attire guidelines.

Please check the PAGEANT PAGE for the type of attire to wear at each pageant.

 

Swimsuit Pageants

Girls: Swimsuit-One or two piece. Wraps are OK. (Modest Swimsuits, no string bikinis or costumes please!)

Boys: Swim Wear or Beach Wear.
ALL CONTESTANTS SHOULD WEAR SHOES OR SANDALS! NO HIGH HEELS PLEASE!

Think Pink Pageants:

Girls: Any type of outfit that has PINK IN IT!! No costumes.

Boys: Any type of outfit. Shirt and slacks, suit and tie, or vest, etc. No costumes.

 

Outfit of Choice Pageants:

Girls: Any type of outfit, or Hollywood Babe.

Boys: Any type of outfit. Shirt and slacks, suit and tie, or vest, etc.

 

Red, White, or Blue Pageants

Girls 0-12 yrs.: Sailor, Nautical, Anything red, white, or blue, pants or dress

Girls 13-17 yrs.: Sailor, Nautical, Anything red, white, or blue, pants or dress (Age appropriate please.)

Boys: Sailor, Nautical, Anything red, white, or blue

 

Valentines, Easter, Spring & Holiday Pageants:

Girls 0-12 yrs.: Holiday, off the rack, or “Hollywood Babe” dress. No pageant dresses!

Girls 13-16 yrs.: Evening gown or short prom dress. (Age appropriate please.)

Boys: Sunday best, or suit & tie. No Tuxedos.

 

PROGRAM BOOK DEADLINE:

We will be printing a very nice keepsake program book that will contain the contestants names and business sponsors. In order for your child’s name and business sponsors to be printed, you must mail your application to ARRIVE by the Wednesday before the pageant!! YOU MAY STILL ENTER AT THE DOOR but you will have to pay your fees by cash, money order, or credit card !! Make checks payable to: California Tropic Promotions. Checks will be accepted for payment ONLY IF RECEIVED eleven days before the pageant!!

 

WINNERS:

There will be 4 Queens or 4 Kings IN EACH AGE DIVISION. There will be 6 runner ups in each age division. There will be one SUPREME QUEEN and one SUPREME KING in each age division that will receive a beautiful CUSTOM CT crown with colored stones (for girls) or CUSTOM medallion (for boys), a large custom CT trophy, balloon bouquet, satin CA Tropic Sash, a nice gift, and their entry fee paid to the finals!! The Theme Queen or King is another way to get your entry fee paid to the finals!! It is judged on overall appearance and personality by a separate judge during the overall competition. Theme Queens or Kings in each age division will receive a CT tiara (for girls), CT medallion (for boys), a nice trophy, and their entry fee paid to the Finals! The California Tropic Queen or King will receive a custom CT trophy, CT tiara (for girls), CT medallion (for boys), and their entry fee paid to the finals! Six runner ups and in each age division (three from competiton 1 and three from competition 2)will receive a CT trophy and half their entry fee paid to the finals!. Nobody goes home empty-handed, everyone gets some type of trophy, at least one tiara (for girls) and at least one medallion (for boys)!!

 

FRONT AND BACK COVER:

This is one of our most prestigious titles because the winners will have their picture printed on the front or back cover of our program book! They will also receive a beautiful 11x13 keepsake trophy plaque, tiara (for girls), a medallion (for boys), and half their entry fee to the Finals. Photos may be color or black & white no larger than 8x10. All cover photos must be RECEIVED BY the Wednesday before the pageant!! Enter your photo in the Front or Back Cover competition or enter the same photo in BOTH!! You can email photos to californiatropic@msn.com.

 

OPTIONAL CATEGORIES:

Optional categories are a lot of FUN! They give your child another chance to take home extra awards! Plus, if your child wins an optional, they also qualify for the FINALS with half their entry fee paid! Prettiest eyes, hair, smile, etc... will be judged while the child is on stage by separate judges.

 

PHOTOGENIC COMPETITION:

Photos may be turned in at check-in on the day of the pageant or mailed in advance. They may be color or black & white no larger than 8x10. Photos may be picked up after the pageant. Please write your child’s name, CURRENT age, and “photogenic” on the back of your photo. Photogenic winners in each age division receive a nice trophy, tiara (for girls), and half their entry fee paid to the Finals!! Do not email photogenic photos.

 

 

TALENT COMPETITION:

The talent competition is open to all contestants ages 4 and up. Talent winners will receive a beautiful tiara (for girls), nice trophy, and half their entry fee paid to the Finals. Act should not be more than three minutes in length!

 

FUND RAISERS:

Enter Everything For Free!!:

The Tell A Friend Program is very easy and fun to do. Just Tell 5 Friends that has never been in a Tropic pageant before and get them to sign up for the mandatory competition and you can enter everything for FREE!!!! It’s as easy as 1-2-3 so TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! Make sure to list the names of the contestants you referred on your application so proper credit can be applied. Credit will not be given retroactively after the pageant date.

 

Business Card Ads For The Program Book:

You may sell business card ads to help with your entry fees. All business card ads cost $10.00 each. For every card that you turn in with $10, you will receive $5 credit to apply to your entry fee. Have your business sponsor make their checks payable to California Tropic. All business card ad payments and business cards must be turned in eleven days before he pageant to receive CREDIT. Ads and sponsors are tax deductible!

 

Sponsor Program:

Sponsors may be obtained to help with your entry fees. Sponsors may be family, friends or business associates. Only business sponsors will be listed in our program book.
