To one of the largest, long running and most sought after pageant programs in the nation... the “Little Miss & Mr. California Tropic Children's Pageant and Model Search”. It has always been our mission to promote the well-being of our “kids”, whether it may be through building their self esteem and confidence or their health and fitness. The children always come first! CT Promotions believes that every single child’s life will be enriched and their dreams can be fulfilled by participating in this memorable program.
NUMEROUS OPPORTUNITIES
We are a promotional company promoting many different products including “Cool Cuts 4 Kids”, “Hollywood Babe”, “Broadway Babe”, “Sand N Sun”, and, for the past 20 years, “Hawaiian Tropic”. In turn, they use our kids as models for their products. In fact, “Cool Cuts 4 Kids” just used ten of our kids in their new promotional brochure! “Hollywood Babe” has used many of our kids over the years in their ads, hang tags and website! Many dancers have had the excitement of being selected as one of “Broadway Babe’s” elite dance wear models! “Sand N Sun” by “Intex”, has used hundreds of kids for the boxes, packaging and catalogs of their numerous pool and inflatable products line! They just recently used 45 of our kids and their parents in an advertising video appearing in “Toys R Us’ stores NATIONWIDE!! Hawaiian Tropic has used numerous kids in their national magazine ads and store displays! This is where it all begins!
IT’S EASY!
Each contestant will come up on stage and smile. After that will be a group line-up. We will do two age divisions at a time, then go back and pass out the awards to those two age divisions and then you’re done. All we want is everybody to have a great time. Contestants 0-3 years must have an adult bring them on stage. There will be a winner, a mini king/queen and 3 runners up in each age division. We even have a youngest baby award! Also, we will have an optional Queen or King winner for each age division (see application to enter the optional Queen or King!)

JUDGING GUIDELINES:
Contestants will be judged on a total package of head to toe natural beauty, poise and personality with an emphasis on facial beauty. Excessive make up is not recommended or necessary. Remember, this is a children’s pageant! Do not put dark lipstick on children ages 7 and under. (Note: Excessive make up is at the sole discretion of the judge’s only!) Straight pageant walk only. No fancy runway modeling or removing any garments.
SWIMSUIT PAGEANT ATTIRE:

Girls: Swim Suit - One or two piece. Wraps are OK (Modest swim suits only. No costumes!)

Girls 0-12 = Any type of Special Occasion Dress, Holiday type dress or Hollywood Babe Dress. Something they would get their picture taken in. (NO FANCY PAGEANT DRESSES PLEASE!)

Girls 13-16 = Evening Gown or short/long prom dress. (Age Appropriate please!!)

BOYS ALL AGES = Sunday Best or Suit & Tie. (NO TUXEDOS PLEASE!)

FUND RAISERS:
TELL A FRIEND PROGRAM:
The Tell A Friend Program is very easy and fun to do. Just “Tell A Friend” that has never been in a Tropic pageant before and get them to sign up and we will credit your application $20.00, but if you get two friends you can enter FREE! (A $50.00 Value!) It’s as easy as 1-2-3 so TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! Make sure to list the names of the contestants you referred on your application so proper credit can be applied. Credit will not be given retroactively after the pageant date.
BUSINESS CARD ADS FOR THE PROGRAM BOOK:
You may sell business card ads to help with your entry fees. All business card ads cost $10.00 each. For every card that you turn in with $10, you will receive $5 credit to apply to your entry fee. Have your business sponsor make their checks payable to California Tropic. All business card ad payments and business cards must be turned in eleven days before the pageant to receive CREDIT. Ads and sponsors are tax deductible!
SPONSOR PROGRAM:
Sponsors may be obtained to help with your entry fees. Sponsors may be family, friends or business associates. Only business sponsors will be listed in our program book.

ADVANCE TO THE FINALS!
ALL contestants that enter this pageant will advance to the Finals!! If your child wins their age division title or the optional Queen or King, they will receive their entry fee paid to the Finals. If they are a runner-up, mini-queen or mini-king or win any optional award (hair, eyes, smile, photogenic etc.) they will receive half their entry fee paid!!!
(Note: Finals entry fee does not include registration fee and only 1 half entry fee paid per contestant will apply if they win more than 1 optional!)
That’s all there is to it. We don’t have a long list of strict rules and regulations. We want the kids to be kids. We know they are still young, and most have little or no pageant experience. We encourage them to “just be themselves” and we reward them with self esteem and confidence. Our number one goal is to create a magical day for you and your family with music and balloons and the experience of a lifetime.
WINNERS:
There will be one winner in each age division that will receive a very nice gift, a beautiful Custom CT crown with colored stones (for girls) or medallion (for boys) and a lovely banner. Baby winners receive a miniature “teacup” size round crown and a very nice gift! There will also be at least three runners up in each age group! And because we know that little kids’ hearts are fragile, everyone goes home with a nice gift and a program book to remember their special day by. Nobody goes home empty-handed, and we make everyone feel like a winner! All of our preliminary winners can also represent their titles by participating in parades, ribbon cutting ceremonies, community service events and can submit their photo and information to their local newspapers!
OPTIONAL CATEGORIES:
Optional categories are a lot of FUN! They give your child another chance to take home extra awards! Plus, if your child wins an optional, they also qualify for the FINALS with half their entry fee paid! Prettiest eyes, hair, smile, etc., will be judged while the child is on stage by separate judges and will receive a nice trophy. The optional Queen or King is an optional title that is judged separately during the overall competition. Optional Queen or King Winners in each age division will receive a lovely tiara (for girls),a special gift and their full entry fee paid to the Finals!
PHOTOGENIC COMPETITION:
Photos may be turned in at check-in on the day of the pageant or mailed in advance. They may be color or black & white no larger than 8x10. Photos may be picked up after the pageant. Please write your child’s name, CURRENT age, and “photogenic” on the back of your photo. Photogenic winners in each age division receive a nice trophy, tiara (for girls), and half entry to the Finals!!
FRONT AND BACK COVER:
This is one of our most prestigious titles because the winners will have their picture printed on the front or back cover of our program book! They will also receive a keepsake trophy plaque, tiara (for girls), and half their entry fee to the Finals. Photos may be color or black & white no larger than 8x10. All cover photos must be RECEIVED four days prior to the pageant to be eligible!! Enter your photo in the Front or Back Cover competition or enter the same photo in BOTH!!
TALENT COMPETITION:
The talent competition is open to all contestants ages 4 and up. Talent winners will receive a beautiful tiara (for girls) or a nice medallion (for boys), and their "Talent" entry fee paid to the Finals. Act should not be more than three minutes in length!
PICTURE PACKAGE:
ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERAS ALLOWED AT THE PAGEANT!! Even in a public setting such as a mall. We will have an official pageant photographer to take your pictures for you. Picture packages are available at a very reasonable cost. Photos will be mailed to you within three to four weeks! These photos are not copyrighted, so you may make copies for your family and friends!
VIDEO PASSES:
If you would like to videotape your child, you may purchase a video pass for only $20 (includes admission). When you return the pass you will receive a $5 refund. PLEASE INFORM YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ABOUT THIS POLICY!!
ADMISSION CHARGES:
There will be an admission charge at the door for EVERYONE except the contestant and two chaperones. Charges will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Please inform your family and friends about this in advance! Note: If the pageant is held in a public mall, there will be no admission charge. |
